ANNA GAMMELGAARD

Anna Gammelgaard's project, which reached the ITS Contest finals in 2012, is extraordinary in how it redefines, within a cinematic universe, clothing and accessories.

They become interfaces for controlling our interaction with the world, constantly reshaping our bodies. Exploring the idea of a post-apocalyptic survivor cinematically, her work invites us to reconsider fashion in a world that has been transformed.

These objects should be interpreted as if you were in a museum of film. Each object belongs to the character in the short film you can see on the screen. The survivor of this post-apocalyptic scenario awakens from a dream that evokes vague memories of life "before", before the disaster. The only memory is a specific sound, a musical note. A tuning fork tuned in the key of A is her only tool for producing the note she is trying to remember, hoping that recalling the note will unlock memories of her past. Each object whose sound comes close to the sought-after note is collected and preserved. The search becomes her reason for living.

Anna Gammelgaard also seeks to demonstrate that studying objects that once belonged to someone else can deepen our understanding of that specific individual, providing insights into the history of a character.

We now remain in the section dedicated to the extraordinary for the final piece we will explore in "Fashionlands - Clothes Beyond Borders" before continuing our visit at ITS Arcademy. The next QR code audioguide is here next to the brightly coloured padded kite-shaped garment that you can see to the right of Anna Gammelgaard.

Let’s go back to the ordinary garments, to discover the Sweater.
